The 100 Best Books for Children

The American web Scholastic has released a full list of the 100 best books for children , always from the point of view of American literature, that while different from the world, gives us the opportunity to discover, and rediscover, some titles are not known in our language which, however, are quite works embodied in the United States .

Among the first books chosen include global hits like Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone or Anne of Green Gables . Others are famous for recent films such as Where the Wild . We can also find some that had a television adaptation and are little gems , like The Wind in the Willows , although they are all pretty classic sounding titles until we met, and from 30th place, with The Hunger Games .

The first three are not particularly famous in Spain , although known and published. Goodnight Moon (at No. 3) by Margaret Wise Brown is a 1947 classic in which a bunny be saying goodbye to all things in his room until he falls asleep. An endearing book ideal for children caught a good sleep. (Very different from Duérmete than once, fuck , parent success last year)

In second place we find A Wrinkle in Time , by Madeleine L'Engle , whose latest edition in Spanish consists of 94 years by Alfaguara, a juvenile novel with time travel, adventure and action, with touches of carrying quantum physics and about 70 U.S. editions. Yes, 70. There is nothing .
The first position is for Charlotte's Web , written by EB White and first published in 1952, which took several animated adaptations and a 2006 production, starring Dakota Fanning, Julia Roberts, Kathy Bates and John Cleese, among others many-in which narrates the adventures of Charlotte, Fern and Wilbur the pig . This book is considered children's books best selling the last fifteen years .
Clearly, this list is very limited and exclusive attention to the American public , so it is clear that there are still many works elsewhere. What ye lay less in the listing? And that there is, what is your opinion ? I hope, as always, in the comments, on our Facebook and also on Twitter.
